Sonesta Executes Seven MOD Collection by Sonesta Agreements

NEWTON, MA [December 17, 2025] – Sonesta International Hotels Corporation (Sonesta) today announced six executed agreements that will see these prominent U.S. hotels join the MOD Collection by Sonesta soft brand. These new properties will expand Sonesta’s upscale presence in high-traffic markets: Boston, Daytona, Orlando, Chicago, New Smyrna Beach, Healdsburg, CA and the Poconos.

In June 2023, Sonesta introduced MOD Collection by Sonesta™ (MOD) and made the soft brand available for franchising. The brand allows developers to keep what makes their hotel unique from the perspective of its brand personality and local presence with the strategic benefit of joining the Sonesta portfolio and Sonesta Travel Pass guest loyalty program. As of 2025, there are three MOD hotels open and operating, Hotel 11, MOD Collection by Sonesta, in Calgary, Alberta, the ACP Hotel Houston Westchase, MOD Collection by Sonesta in Houston, Texas and the Dry Creek Inn, MOD Collection by Sonesta in Sonoma.

“We are bringing seven distinct, high-quality properties to the Sonesta portfolio, demonstrating our flexibility and our appeal to owners who want to maintain their hotel’s unique identity and local charm while benefiting from Sonesta’srobust commercial platform and award-winning guest loyalty program,” said Phil Hugh, Sonesta’s Chief Development Officer. “Interest remains high – especially in our soft brands. These hotels are each exceptional in their own right, and we are confident they will thrive as part of our brand family.”

“Sonesta is focused on our growth with exciting conversions that elevate the guest experience and offer a variety of options for travelers wherever they may be. These MOD agreements, which include a city center, a beach resort, and unique leisure destinations like the Poconos, Orlando and wine country, are a prime example of that focus in action,” Keith Pierce, Sonesta’s Executive Vice President and President of Franchise & Development. “The addition of these seven hotels adds real weight to MOD’s presence as a domestic brand of choice, further establishing the soft brand within Sonesta’s portfolio.”

These properties will begin their transition to MOD Collection by Sonesta in the coming months. Guests of the hotels will be able to earn and redeem points through the award-winning Sonesta Travel Pass loyalty program at that time.
