LIHUE, Hawaii (April 20, 2026) – The Royal Sonesta Kaua’i Resort Lihue is pleased to announce the appointment of Monika Henry as general manager. A seasoned hospitality executive with more than two decades of experience leading luxury, lifestyle, and resort properties across the United States, Henry brings a strong track record of operational excellence, service innovation, and people-first leadership to one of Kaua’i’s premier beachfront destinations.

Most recently, Henry served as general manager of Sonesta White Plains Downtown, where she successfully led the hotel’s transition from Crowne Plaza to Sonesta Hotels & Resorts with a multimillion-dollar renovation. Her prior leadership experience also includes leadership roles at notable luxury properties such as InterContinental Boston by IHG and The Westin Copley Place, Boston.

Henry is known for creating environments where both guests and team members thrive. Her leadership philosophy centers on delivering exceptional, personalized hospitality while empowering teams to perform at the highest level. Henry’s leadership and impact have been recognized with numerous accolades, including Sonesta Hotels & Resorts General Manager of the Year and Women in Tourism General Manager Category Winner in 2024.
